"To whom much is given, much will be required"

“I am HERE.

I am living.

I am loving.

I am doing.

I am doing what my heart desires.

I am leaving my mark.”

- Ayanna L. Wilcox

Dreams and Aspirations

Everytime I am asked, "what do you want to do with a degree in Applied Communications?", I always reply "I never want to have to work, ever!" My dream in life is to not have to have a job. I truly want to "find something I love and I will never have to work a day in my life."

I aspire to be a philanthropists and advocator for urban youth. I want to provide facilities for young children who live in urban or under-priviledged neighborhoods that offer the all the things that will equip them to be "leaders of tommorow." Yes, SAT prep and homework helpers but "all fun and no play makes Paul a dull boy." My facilities will not only supplement academics but provide extra-curricular activities as well. As a child I was very active in after-schol activities and I am a testament of how beneficial they are to a person's development. Therfore, I want to provide them for those who may be forced to sacrifice them under certain circumstances.

This portfolio is a collection of works that I have read or created myself, and activties I have participated in, that , will give me the skills, knowledge and expereience necessary to be the community organizer/philanthropist/entrepreneur I aspire to be. I was given so much and it is my responsibility to give it back.

Short-Term Goals

1. To gain a full understanding of my major, Communication & Culture, and minor Business Administration. I want to be able to succesfully perform all 21 outcomes of the university and 16 outcomes of the School of Communications. Fortunately, I am not far from achieving this goal, for this portfolio is a reflection of my success thus far.

2. Travel to Ghana during the Summer of 2014. I want to further develop my intercultural skills and continue to live my life through truth and service, the way Howard has encouraged me to.

3. To complete the list of goal statements I set out for myself in 2012 upon my entrance into the School of Communications. Click here to read those statements.
